AI for symptom assessment and diagnostic recommendations

Infermedica wants to use artificial intelligence (AI) to help relieve the workload of emergency departments in hospitals and thus ensure better medical care. Today, emergency departments are frequently visited by patients who are not real emergencies. The Infermedica solution enables a quick initial assessment of symptoms and provides diagnostic recommendations. It thus contributes to more efficient patient treatment and care.

Infermedica has already left the start-up status and is an established company with about 100 highly qualified employees. The developed software is in use at renowned health care providers worldwide and has proven itself a million times over. With fresh capital, the company now wants to grow further. The company plans to expand its activities in Germany and the USA in particular.

In a Series A financing round, more than USD 10 million have now been raised. The main investors are the VC fund Heal Capital and the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development. Heal Capital was founded in 2019 on the initiative of the Association of Private Health Insurers to promote digital health solutions. The fund is aiming for a target volume of EUR 100 million. The fund is financed by private health insurers in Germany.
