Intelligent solutions for electricity billing and networking of electricity suppliers

Over the next few years, around 50 million electricity meters in Germany that still operate in analogue mode will have to be replaced by digital ones. Hausheld has an excellent starting position here as a long-standing partner of many start-up companies and is one of the few companies in Germany able to offer solutions – the best conditions for above-average growth. But Hausheld can do even more. The company is so far the only provider in Germany of an intelligent network that allows electricity providers to connect and communicate with each other digitally – a real USP.

With an Investment, DBAG is now improving Hausheld’s equity base, thus enabling the Company to tap new financing potential in order to continue to grow. For DBAG, this investment is the first investment under a new investment strategy focusing on long-term minority investments in innovative growth companies.

In Germany, DBAG is considered the oldest and largest private equity investor in the industrial SME sector. Founded in 1965 and originally a joint venture between Deutsche Bank and Hofer Schmitt Bank, DBAG later broke away from its roots, became independent and has been listed on the stock exchange since 1985. The capital for the Investments is raised, inter alia, through private equity funds launched by DBAG. In financial year 2018/2019, DBAG held 27 Investments in companies. Since DBAG was founded, more than 300 Investments have been realised. The capital managed and advised during this period amounts to more than 2.5 billion euros. In financial year 2018/19, the DBAG funds had a volume of just under 1.3 billion euros. One investment focus is on the broadband telecommunications, IT services and healthcare sectors. Another pillar of the investment business is automotive suppliers, mechanical and plant engineering companies and manufacturers of industrial components.
