The Wilo success story: Pump and pump systems

The company name Wilo is derived from Wilhelm Opländer, the founder of the company. In 1872, he established a copper and brass goods factory in Dortmund and initially supplied the beverage industry with distillation plants. Later, central heating construction was added as a business field, which made it inevitable that the company would focus on pump technology. In the 1920s, the company became a pioneer in the field of circulating pumps. After the Second World War, the business was consistently expanded and the path was taken abroad. Growth was organic, but also through acquisitions of various foreign competitors. Today Wilo pumps are sold worldwide.
