1. Geberit International AG, Rapperswil-Jona: CHF 3.0 billion in sales.

Geberit has become big with WC cisterns. The company was founded in 1874 as a plumbing company by Caspar Melchior Albert Gebert, cisterns have been mass-produced since 1905, and the first plastic cistern was launched in 1952 – today’s standard. The product portfolio is now much broader and covers the entire spectrum of bathroom and sanitary solutions. There are three product areas: Installation and Flushing Systems, Piping Systems and Bathroom Systems. The Geberit Group employs over 11,500 people and is represented in more than 50 countries worldwide. Geberit shares have been listed on the Swiss stock exchange since 1999.

2. SFS Group AG, Heerbrugg: CHF 1.7 billion in sales

The SFS Group can trace its origins back to a hardware store founded in Altstätten in 1928 with a branch opened shortly thereafter in Heerbrugg. Within almost a hundred years, this has developed into a globally operating technology group in the fields of mechanical fastening systems and precision molded parts. As a building supplier, SFS Group manufactures fastening and hinge systems for doors, windows and glass facades. In addition, the Group is also a supplier to the automotive industry (braking systems), aircraft manufacturers (cabin interior fastening technology) and mobile phone manufacturers (precision components). SFS Group employs over 10,000 people. The group is majority family-owned.

3. EgoKiefer AG, Altstätten: CHF 357 million in sales (Arbonia Group window division)

EgoKiefer was formed in 1976 by the merger of EgoWerke, founded in 1932, and Fenster Kiefer AG. The new company thus became the largest window manufacturer in Switzerland. EgoKiefer has been part of the Arbonia Group since 1993. The group, headquartered in Arbon (Canton Zug), is active as a building supplier in the fields of heating, ventilation and air-conditioning technology, as well as windows and doors. EgoKiefer is the most important subsidiary in the Windows Division of the Arbonia Group. Windows made of plastic, wood and/or aluminum make up the production program. EgoKiefer employs around 400 people.
