For numerous entries, the latest revenue and employee figures available in the company register have been integrated (cut-off date: 28.08.2025; database update: 24.08.2025).
Extensive Data Update
The list has been fundamentally revised and supplemented with current key figures. At a glance (only values already available in the Federal Gazette):
As of August 2025, not all mechanical engineering companies have filed their 2023 annual financial statements; therefore, fewer figures are available for this year than for 2022. As soon as further publications are made in the Federal Gazette, they will be integrated into the database.

- Aggregate revenue: from € 636,784 million (2022) to € 691,929 million (2023) – an increase of +€ 55,145 million or +8.66%
- 184 companies increased their revenue, 56 recorded declines, 11 remained stable

The importance of mechanical engineering is also evident in the labor market: for the companies with 2022/2023 data, the number of employees increased by a total of 45,775 people. Of these, 164 companies reported an increase, 66 a decline, while 30 remained constant.

German mechanical engineering is strongly rooted in the country’s industrial core regions. Many companies are located in:
