The Swiss group is active in 94 countries worldwide and is an IT distributor, consultant and integrator all in one. The Emmen-based company develops customized IT solutions for its customers and has steadily expanded its range of cloud-based services in recent years. With sales of CHF 11.9 billion, ALSO ranks first among the largest IT companies in Switzerland.

2. Swisscom AG, Berne

Swisscom AG is not only the largest telecommunications group in Switzerland, but also has a veritable IT business. Around 18,900 employees generated revenues of CHF 11.1 billion in 2020. Its IT services activities are diverse and include IT systems for banks and activities in the field of artificial intelligence.

Update 2024: Swisscom, one of the largest web hosters in Switzerland, is in the process of divesting this division; around 20,000 web hosting customers would be affected. The aim is to integrate this division into the Swisscom subsidiaries Localsearch, MTF Solutions and Global IP Action.

3. SoftwareONE AG, Stans

SoftwareONE, based in Stans in the canton of Nidwalden, is one of the largest software companies in Europe. The company has been listed on the SIX Swiss Exchange since 2019 and primarily supports companies in the management of software licenses. At the core of the company is the PyraCloud platform, through which customers from around the world can access the services of the Swiss. SoftwareONE has a presence in 90 countries around the world and says it employs more than 8,300 people.
