Logistics halls instead of production halls for the automotive industry

A current logistics transaction concerns a recently completed new construction project in the Bremer Kreuz industrial estate in the southeast of the city in the immediate vicinity of the motorway junction of the same name. The two motorways A1 and A 27 connect Bremen with the Ruhr area and Hamburg and the Hanover area. The new building is located on a 53,000 square metre site, which previously housed a hall for the production of injection moulded parts for vehicle construction. This object was demolished and replaced by three new hall sections. The new logistics property has 30 loading gates for loading and unloading trucks and/or commercial vehicles. The buyer of the property is LIP Invest – an owner-managed Munich investment company specialising in logistics investments. The acquisition is intended for the portfolio of an open real estate special AIF of LIP Invest. The previous owner is Bauwo Grundstücksgesellschaft – a long-standing property and project developer based in Hanover, Germany, which specialises in logistics, office and hotel properties as well as retail properties. The tenant of the new halls will be the freight forwarder Damco Germany, which belongs to the world’s largest container shipping company, the Danish A. P. Moller-Maersk Group.
