The basis is the published figures from the 2023 consolidated financial statements.
Why Volkswagen is at the Top
Volkswagen owes its leading position to a combination of global presence, a broad brand portfolio, and high innovative strength. With strong brands such as VW, Audi, Porsche, Škoda, SEAT, and Lamborghini, the group covers almost all segments of the automotive market – from small cars to premium vehicles, trucks, and electric cars. The strategy of heavily investing in electromobility and digitalization has further strengthened its competitiveness. Despite challenging conditions such as inflation, supply chain issues, and geopolitical uncertainties, Volkswagen was able to increase its revenue in 2023 by more than €43 billion compared to the previous year.
