Summary
The highest-revenue German logistics company in 2025 – based on the ResearchGermany list of the largest logistics companies in Germany and exclusive market research – is the DHL Group (Deutsche Post AG). In fiscal year 2023, it generated €81,758 million in consolidated revenue, clearly ahead of all competitors (Source: DHL Group – Annual Report 2023).
Why DHL Group is at the Top
- Broad setup across five major business divisions: In 2023, revenue was distributed across Express (€24,322 million), Global Forwarding, Freight (€18,031 million), Supply Chain (€16,814 million), eCommerce (€6,174 million), and Post & Parcel Germany (€16,402 million). This diversification makes the group crisis-resistant.
- Economies of scale in the global network: With a worldwide express, forwarding, and contract logistics network, DHL Group achieves efficiency gains along the entire supply chain – from last mile to intercontinental transport flows.
- Successfully managed the 2023 market environment: Despite declining freight rates after the record year 2022 and negative currency effects, revenue remained exceptionally high.
- Clear lead over competitors: DHL Group’s revenue is more than four times that of its next-largest German competitor.

Assessment of 2023
After the exceptional record year 2022, consolidated revenue in 2023 amounted to €81,758 million (–13.4% compared to the previous year). The decline was mainly due to normalized freight rates in forwarding and negative currency effects. Nevertheless, DHL Group remained clearly at the top, while the Supply Chain and eCommerce divisions were further strengthened through new business and contract renewals.
Conclusion
With global reach, strong presence in all relevant logistics segments, and a robust network, DHL Group remains in 2025 the highest-revenue German logistics company – leaving the competition far behind.
