Linde, KKR, Goldmann Sachs and Weichai shape Kion history
Kion was created in 2006 by the spin-off of the forklift truck division from the Linde Group. The Linde Group, now based in Dublin, is a leading supplier of industrial gases and gas production plants. Linde sold the new company to the New York investment houses Kohlberg Kravis Roberts & Co. (KKR) and Goldman Sachs. From mid-2013, they successively floated the Kion shares on the stock exchange. Over time, KKR and Goldman Sachs gave up their holdings completely. Kion is an MDAX company. The Chinese diesel engine manufacturer Weichai now holds 43.3 percent of the Kion shares and is thus the major shareholder. The remaining shares are in free float.Source: Listenchampion Picture source: Unsplash
