Place 1: Adecco Group AG: 20.9 billion euros in sales
The Adecco Group is a Zurich-Seefeld-based, internationally active personnel services provider. In 1996, the Swiss company Adia Interim and the French company Ecco merged: Adecco was born! In the years that followed, Adecco grew strongly through acquisitions and organic growth. Today, the group employs a good 30,000 of its own staff, as well as around one million temporary workers. Staffing and temporary employment are Adecco’s core business. In addition, Adecco is an outsourcing partner and offers onsite management and personnel consulting. The Group operates in around 60 countries with national subsidiaries and has approximately 5,300 branch offices.
Place 2: DKSH Holding AG: CHF 11.1 billion in sales
Three Swiss emigrated to the Far East in the 19th century and founded companies there independently in different places. The Group employs over 33,000 people.
Place 3: SIX Group AG: CHF 1.5 billion in sales
At SIX, everything revolves around the stock exchange. At the beginning of 2008, the three Swiss exchange service providers SWX Group, SIS Group and Telekurs Group merged to form Swiss Financial Markets Services Ltd. In 2008, the company was renamed SIX Group Ltd. SIX stands for “Swiss Infrastructure and Exchange”. The core business of SIX is the operation of the Swiss stock exchange. The company provides the technical infrastructure for this and processes securities transactions. In addition, SIX sells stock exchange and financial information. Another mainstay is cashless payment transactions. Here, SIX is active as a processor in Switzerland and many other European countries. The company has 3,800 employees.
