Part of the Merckle group of companies
The PHOENIX Group in its current form has been in existence since 1994, when the entrepreneur Adolf Merckle took over several pharmaceutical distributors in the early 1990s. These were brought together under the umbrella of PHOENIX. PHOENIX is still part of the Merckle group of companies – a conglomerate that is active not only in pharmaceutical production and trade but also in mechanical engineering, the building materials and cement industry and other areas. The core of the group is the pharmaceutical manufacturer Merckle GmbH. Important participations exist in Kässbohrer Geländefahrzeug AG, the Zollern Group and HeidelbergCement.
