It is owned by a foundation – initiated by company founder Aloys Wobben. Enercon builds wind turbines worldwide and has over 14,000 employees. In addition, there are business activities in the fields of hydropower, seawater desalination, ship transport and crane technology.

Krones, headquartered in Neutraubling (Bavaria), is a leading company for packaging machines in the food industry, and for bottling and canning lines. The company employs 16,000 people, 11,000 of them in Germany. Its turnover recently stood at just over 4 billion euros.
