Plastics processing encompasses many business models. In Germany, hundreds of companies with thousands of employees are involved in the plastics processing industry. Here we take a closer look at three major companies in the sector, all of which are included in our dedicated list.

1. Adolf Würth GmbH & Co. KG, Künzelsau

The Würth Group is a conglomerate that covers numerous business fields. The focus is on the wholesale of fastening and assembly technology. However, the Group also owns “manufacturing” companies and subgroups which are active in plastics processing, for example, the pipe system manufacturer IVT.

2. Freudenberg SE, Weinheim

The Freudenberg Group is a major German automotive supplier. Business is divided into the Seals/Vibration Control Technology, Technical Textiles/Filtration, Cleaning Technologies/Products and Specialties Divisions. Plastics processing plays an important role above all in sealing technology and cleaning. Freudenberg has almost 48,000 employees.

3. Röchling SE & Co. KG, Mannheim

Röchling’s history began with coal and steel, and in the meantime it was also a conglomerate. Since the 1980s, Röchling has become a plastics processor. Today, with more than 11,000 employees, Röchling produces plastic parts for industry and supplies plastic components for automotive construction and medical technology.
